Ann Arbor Policies | The Barre Code®

COVID-19 POLICIES

We take great responsibility in keeping you safe while you are in our care, and have made a few changes to your in-studio experience to reflect that. Please read below for our updated policies in response to COVID-19.

  • For the foreseeable future, all class sizes will be held at a limited capacity to allow for proper social distancing.
  • Sign up for your classes in advance to secure the spot that you want. Picking your spot in advance will help us reduce lines and traffic before class starts.
  • Be sure to register for classes at least 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Reservations will close 15 minutes before hand. At this time, we cannot allow for any walk-in reservations.
  • Clients are able to enter the studio up to 10 minutes prior to class. If you arrive to the studio before then, please wait in your car or a safe distance from others until the doors open.
  • Install our app! Check yourself into class using geo-check-in and avoid lines at the front desk. Our staff will also be available to assist with check-ins and to answer any questions.
  • Please wear a mask at all times when in the studio, including while taking class.
  • For the time being, we have discontinued our use of lockers, changing rooms, and kids room services. We thank you for your understanding and will bring these back as soon as we feel it is appropriate to do so.
  • Our retail boutique is available, however we ask that you refrain from trying items on. We will no longer be accepting cash as a form of payment; please have a valid credit card available for any purchases.
  • Make sure you are signed in for class 5 minutes before the start of class. If you are not signed in 5 minutes prior to class, your spot could be given to someone on the waitlist or on standby
  • Please be sure to sanitize or wash your hands for 20 seconds with warm water before entering the studio, our restroom is in the hallway. We ask all of our staff and clients to abide by “clean hands in, clean hands out” when entering & leaving our studio.
  • You’ll need your phone to scan a QR code upon entering the studio in order to fill out our Covid questionnaire.  We will also take your temperature as an additional precaution.  All staff will fill out this same form upon arrival to the studio.
  • Keep your distance from others in-studio. Follow indicators on the floor to stay a healthy 6 feet distance from others.
  • To minimize touch points and avoid congregation at the prop station, sanitized props will be placed for you at your reserved barre spot. Additional sanitation stations in the studio are available for your use if you’d like to give your props or barre spot an extra wipe down.
  • For the safety of our staff & clients, no one will be permitted to enter the studio once class has started. If you are not in class by the time it starts, you will be marked as a no show.
  • Cancelling a reservation more than 4 hours prior to class will result in no penalty. Cancelling a reservation less than 4 hours prior to a class will result in a $10 late cancellation fee. Failure to cancel a reservation or checking in properly for class will result in a $10 no show cancellation fee.
  • Before class begins, line yourself up at your spot at the barre. Be sure that your number matches the spot number that you reserved previously.
  • If asked to step into the center of the room for a portion of class, line yourself up on one of the white decals on the floor to help keep a safe distance from others
  • Our instructors will be offering verbal cues & corrections only during this time. They will not be permitted to travel throughout the space. Use your mirrors and your ears to help you get the most out of your class. We are asking everyone to refrain from additional contact like high-fives, hugs, and fist bumps.
  • At the end of class, please place your props in the metal bin – our staff will sanitize them after everyone has left the studio. Please sanitize or wash your hands as you leave.
  • Please stay for all of class, including stretch, so that we can ensure all props are cleaned thoroughly and that all clients can enjoy their full 50-minutes without interruption. After class, we ask that you promptly exit the studio to minimize exposure and to allow time for our staff to clean.
  • The studio is cleaned before and after each class including frequent cleaning of high touch areas, and using hospital grade cleaning agents after every single class on our floors, barres and props.

CODE OF CONDUCT

If you are attending class for the first time, please make an account on our website or mobile app before arriving to the studio to help expedite your sign-in process. Click “My Account” in the top right-hand corner of this screen to get started!

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your first class so that you can check-in, meet your instructor, get a tour of our studio, and feel confident walking into the studio for the first time!

We recommend always arriving 10-minutes before the start of class. Doors close 20 minutes after the start of class, and you will not be let in after that time to avoid distraction to other clients and the instructor.

Socks are required for all classes and must be worn before entering the studio for hygiene and comfort purposes. Shoes are not allowed in the studio room at any time. Socks are available for purchase at the front desk.

Please leave your cell phone and other personal belongings in your locker for the duration of class.  During Covid though, lockers are not being used so you can bring it into the studio with you.

All standard classes are 50 minutes long. Please stay for the full duration of class. Leaving class early is a distraction to the other clients and instructor. We kindly ask that you respect one another and the hard work you’ve put into the class by staying for the full duration of the class, including the stretch at the end.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

If you are unable to attend a reservation, you must cancel yourself from the class online at www.thebarrecode.com or via The Barre Code mobile app at least 4 hours before the start of class.

If you do not cancel yourself out of class before the designated cut-off time, and/or do not show up for class, you will receive a $10 cancellation fee.. Cancellation penalties vary by contract and package type, so be sure to review your specific agreement terms below. We cannot take cancellations over e-mail, phone, or voicemail. You must cancel via the website or mobile app.

If you are booking a reservation for a guest, you are responsible for cancelling their reservation if they can no longer attend.

We reserve the right to cancel class for extenuating circumstances. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified. We encourage you to opt-in to all communications so as to stay up-to-date with studio updates.

If you are booking class through a third-party booking platform, you will be subject to their cancellation policies.

WAITLIST POLICIES

You can be added from the waitlist to the class roster up to two hours before the start of class. If you are holding a spot on a waitlist for any particular class, treat your waitlist reservation the same as you would a class reservation. You should be prepared to attend class anytime you are holding a spot on the waitlist. If you have booked a reservation for a guest who is on a waitlist, the same policies here apply.

If you are unsure if you are able to attend class, please remove yourself from the waitlist before 4 hours of the class start time to avoid being added to the class roster and to avoid any subsequent late cancel or no-show fees.

If you are added from the waitlist to the class roster, you are subject to all class cancellation policies. If you are added to the class roster from the waitlist but you then choose to late-cancel your reservation OR fail to show up for your reservation, you will be subject to the late cancel and/or no-show fee of $10..

If you remain on the waitlist less than two hours before the start of class, it is still possible that a spot may open up for you. We will call or text if a spot becomes available during the two hours before the start time. If a spot is available and you are able to come still, you will be added to the class by our staff.

Please note that our Kid’s Room capacity is very limited. Please book in advance to secure your child’s spot. Children must be booked into Kid’s Room and are not permitted to wait in the reception area during class.

If you are cancelling a class reservation, please remember to also cancel any Kid’s Room reservations. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your Kid’s Room credit.

Our Kid’s Room Attendants are happy to watch your little ones, but please understand that they are not responsible for changing diapers, monitoring bathroom visits, or administering meals or snacks. Should your child require this type of care, the Kid’s Room Attendant will retrieve you from the class to assist.

You acknowledge that, as the parent or legal guardian, you assume all risk of injury or harm to the child while the child is at The Barre Code’s childcare program. You agree to fully release, indemnify, defend, and forever discharge The Barre Code, its owners, staff, employees, and agents of and from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions, and causes of action in respect of death, injury, loss, or damage to the child, or by the child, howsoever caused, arising out of or to arise by reason of or during the child’s participation in The Barre Code’s childcare program.
