Chicago Instructors Remix Their Resolutions!

2017 is going to be a big year for The Barre Code, and it starts with our rockstar instructors. We asked our amazing ladies in Chicago what their resolutions were for a new year and here’s what they had to say:

AMANDA GIOVANNI
This year I want to focus on being in tune with my body and it’s needs. I am starting my month off with a 30-day mind, body and soul CASA Cleanse. I plan to take time to slow down, listen to what my body really is asking of me and give it just that.

Alright, so in addition to flossing my teeth twice a week, I have a more share-worthy New Year’s resolution. 2017 is going to be the year I take/make more time to unplug and get back to basics. I’m making a conscious effort to read more books, meet people in person rather than communicate solely through email/text/phone call, and take time to travel when I can. It’s easy to get complacent and be lazy about making changes, so 2017 is going to be my year to shake things up and hopefully have these changes grow into my new habits.

CERISSA DEOCAMPO
My New Year’s resolution for 2017 is to love myself more! I’m all about encouraging, supporting, and loving others, but I am often overly critical of myself. I’ve held myself back in the past from trying new things and going new places, because I questioned whether I was capable or good enough. From now on, I’m choosing to be courageous and see the awesomeness inside of me!

I typically don’t make a resolution at the beginning of the new year. Instead, I try to take something I’ve discovered about myself in the prior year and build upon it. For 2017, my resolution is #ConfidenceForCrops! In 2016, I decided that I was going to stop cutting myself down and love the skin I’m in. I’m hoping in 2017 to continue to build this confidence, empower others to be confident in themselves, and, of course, accept and love my body by wearing fun crop tops!
